I suppose younger Latvians do not know Russian well. May be our generation which is "last" from the USSR times, i.e. 28-30 years and over, knows perfectly many languages. If you're looking for a partner of your age, most likely you could drive into problems... but I'm not sure.

Anyway... Russian is a very difficult language Much more difficult than Chinese, I think.
