Attention to all current and coming students, which were actively asking about LBK (Latvian Business College) in Riga and how is it to study there. Below are some excerpts from the recent news regarding this college:

The Council for Higher Education of Latvia decided to refuse Latvijas Biznesa koledža (LBK) to grant accreditation. The reason for this extreme measure were the suspicions that LBK creates a risk of illegal immigration for growth.

It is possible, that the attraction of foreign students is an attempt to save the business, because, according to reports, in recent years the number of students in this college fell by almost half. It is noteworthy that in the social networking site Facebook they advertise promising college places, calling the Institution (College) As the University.

It is known that many foreign students complain about the quality of education at the college, and experts noted the problems with communication and financial difficulties in LBK.

Among the potential clients College calls students from India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Cameroon and other countries. Moreover, as experts noted, teachers in LBK know foreign languages at the not proper level. Registration at college may cost up to 500 euros, without a definite guarantee that the graduate goes to the college or not. Among other things, the fact is that from 58 foreign students enrolled in the LBK, 44 were dismissed during the year.

I'm just following the news and I am not LBK representative. For getting informed about your chances to study, you must contact LBK directly and not this forum.

At this moment, I see their webpage is empty/not available and it is definitely not the best sign. And from what I've heard recently, that was mostly the "business college" making business on its students.

Whatever comes next, I'd recommend another university to look in.

It appears to be closed. Their website is not working, that's the straight sign. And how could they work without government permission?

Sorry! We are not the company which specializes in refunds. We're just a little informative online forum. I suppose, you are not the only one who's lost with LBK. And I suppose, it is almost impossible to get your money back from them. This all was crap initially.

gyanendragiri2@ gmail.com:
why the government took the license with the LBK sir/mam?

It's explained in the very first message above.

gyanendragiri2@ gmail.com:
its not possible to again re-open?

I suppose, the model of this college was so weak and unstable that it's not possible to reincarnate it using the older base.

gyanendragiri2@ gmail.com:
so lbk took the many students fees and not refunds,so latvia goverment not take the action with lbk for students fees?

Government has no deal with this institution. Government just issues certifications and licenses. It was a private institution, so you were accepting all risks while taking a deal with the private business.

gyanendragiri2@ gmail.com:
how can we claim the money(fees) with lbk?

I suppose, only contacting LBK bosses directly.

gyanendragiri2@ gmail.com:
if we request there government or immigrations for refund fees so its possible or not sir/mam?

Government will not help you in any way for this case.
