Monument of Freedom in Riga ( Milda ) and foreigners adventures

From the news I knew today a guy from New Zealand was arrested near the Monument. The only thing he worn, were string panties. He was showing insulting gestures and pictured everything on the video. Just 8 days ago there was another peeing incident near the Monument.

Hah, I would be glad to see what he filmed actually!

And string panties - isn't it a joke? It's a winter in Latvia! It's cold!! The Guy from New Zealand took so many miles to be dressed off and freeze???

People are crazy.

But this attracts even more tourists IMHO. It's funny and sad at the moment.

Update: in the middle of Friday, April 25, Riga's police arrested two Irish men, one of them was posing in front of other's camera, showing his nude ass to Milda. Policemen found about 2,25 per mils alcohol in his blood, but another guy was not drunk at all. Earlier there was a fine of 50 lats for such type 'action' around Milda, but this time the criminal case was initiated.

Such cases are not the first such the story began a long time ago when between UK and Ireland's foreigners, there was established kind of "hobby": to pee on Monument of Freedom, or even to make shit on it (such incidents were not published by Latvian media at all, at the time they truly happened).

I would be curious to know what kind of other "adventures" of such type you know, so feel free to share them here. I am sure there is something more around this monument else we know.

BTW I think foreign tourists must be punished more strong way for such performances... 50 Ls is too less.

I think persons which are peeing on Milda disrespect their own country a lot... What if I would pee on Buckingham palace?

Basically I don't even have pictures of Milda in my collection, but there is a lot of other pictures made in this area: latvian girls When there is a sunny day, they are sitting and walking around it... which makes me absolutely mad Here are some examples I took recently:

Update: I've read in news yesterday there was arrested another young boy (22-years old) who peed the grass sector near Milda. Now it seems Riga's council raised up the fine and it is now 200 Lats.

The story continued today when another British was arrested!

Despite of it I must say drunk foreigners have no big luck to pee anywhere else except Milda. Toilets are the rare happening in the center of Riga. Despite of it I could give anybody an instruction to locate the toilet if he feels he needs to pee right away in the district of Milda. Check the map below. It's situated 200 meters from the monument. It costs 0,15 Lats and it's opened the whole day (don't opened at night).

At night there is McDonalds located (in about 150 meters from the monument), where you can pee for a tip until 4 AM, so don't risk paying 200 lats just for the thing which costs 1000 times cheaper.

WC = Milda? No way guys
