Astonishing news... about three days ago it appears some 30-years old guy from Poland made a pee on
Empress Elisabeth of Austria monument in
Trieste, Italy.
In memory of the wife of Austrian Emperior Franz Joseph, this was built soon after her death in 1898. In 1907, the council decided to put this in the garden near the central railway station, and it was planned by the Viennese sculptor Franz Seifert. The work was opened five years later in December 1912.
The monument consists of a bronze statue of the Empress and two marble figures depicting the homage of the people to the sovereign and an allegory of nature. Taken away in 1921, it was returned to the same square in October 1997.
More significant than a simple statue, Elisabetta, who was called Sissi, was loved by many of Trieste and considered as the sovereign of the city. Books, songs and television programs are still dedicated to her today. Even the position of the statue was controversial as many demanded a different and more modern image of her.
Well, I don't know if this guy was under impression of worldwide tourists peeing on Latvian Milda, but definitely paying 500 Euros for this action was an easy price

I guess, the same kind of punishment the Latvian government needs to introduce regarding Milda...
